At Sea Trek, we understand the time has come for operators to minimize the negative impacts cruising may have on the environment and to enhance the positive ones. Although we can’t claim to be 100% green yet, the past two and a half months, saw our team of engineers, considerably improving this aspect of our commitment.

The Katharina now boasts to be the only vessel of its kind to have a unique energy efficiency system, focusing on protecting the environment, on the quality of air conditioning and on noise control. A substantial amount was invested in the purchase and installation of technologically highly advanced invertors, a battery bank, an electricity alternator and 5 wind turbines, as well as in the installation of a new generation fuel efficient Generator.

With the help of these installations we managed to considerably reduce our fuel consumption, minimizing the ecological impact of our cruises and improving the comfort of our passengers. Picture yourself, dining under the stars of the Komodo Archipelago, hearing water rippling or leaves rustling instead of the disturbing drone of a running engine while all the electrical appliances on board do not fail to be unimpeded at your service!

New Lounge

Within the shell of the existing wood-structure Seatrek has developed, an excellent new lounge and indoor dining area. Set with panoramic windows, the area was designed to provide a new and cozier environment, creating more space and a subtle atmosphere. Comfortably seated at the new bar, or on the cosy sofa, you may relax listening to music from our state of the art sound system or watch your favorite movie on our 42” flat screen TV set, while sampling the latest cocktail creation of our long standing friendly bartender Badrain.

We have redesigned our deck furniture blending teak wood, canvas and aluminum, giving the Katharina a touch of modernity while keeping the feel of a traditional schooner, reflecting Seatrek's conception of the supreme sailing experience and presenting a reinterpretation of a Phinisi Schooner to appeal to today's generations of sophisticated passengers.
